About the Doc School

The DOC SCHOOL is a film production course for aspiring filmmakers presented by KVIE Public Television and the Documentary Foundation. It introduces high school students to the fundamentals of documentary storytelling, cinematography, and editing.

Doc School students produce 3-to-5 minute films over the eight-week course and at the end of the program, premiere them at the Doc School Film Festival. The Doc School prepares participants for a wide range of college coursework and gives them the tools for a career in film.
